Happy New Year! Do you have your 2016 small business marketing initiatives inline? Or know the new tactics that we might see in 2016? Take a look at our MUSTlist for a complete summary of what you need to include, and maybe some things you’ve never heard of.
App Creation – Apps are nothing new, however the prevalence of apps in the small business marketing place will soar. They will no longer be the dividing line between small and big business; they will be an equalizer for all. With the amount of coders and app developers booming – access to these resources will be even easier for all.
Every Door Direct Mail (EDDM) – With the United Stats Postal Office’s refocused efforts on expanding their program, this unique system is sure to have a huge uptick in popularity. It’s just so easy! Simply pick the route(s) you’d like your postcard to arrive at, and the post office will include it in each postal worker’s route. This is the perfect way to target specific area. All at a super low cost too!
The No-Sell – It will be less about the business, and more about the knowledge. Although this is nothing new, many owners will look at your marketing materials as a resource. They will look less for what the business can provide, and more for what they know (so the customer can do it themselves). You don’t want to be lost in the fray, and don’t want your message to fall on deaf ears. So update your webinars, keep consistent newsletters and have a knowledgeable customer service team in order. Customers will be looking for your insight!
Less Digital, More Tangible – The new year will definitely see more print. With the rise of special editions issues and the demand of printed books increasing – many consumers are giving value to print. Be sure to include print marketing in your strategy.
Subscription-Based Interactions – Many tech companies are becoming in-tune to digital advertising, and creating ad-blocking software. This software has been around for a while, but we saw a huge adoption rate toward the end of 2015. This will only increase in 2016. Now is the time to connect, engage and communicate. So be sure to get all of your customer’s email address, and phone number to expand your own in-house marketing. This will be huge.
Now that you know all of the small business marketing musts. It’s time to create a strategy for a prosperous 2016! Best of luck!
